Notifications

Your in-app inbox: every message the workflow rules sent you, newest first, with links to the records they are about and a way to mark them read.

Notifications

This page is your inbox inside NirmaanOne. Workflow rules send you notifications when something needs you, for example a task assigned to you or a task that is overdue. The bell in the top bar shows the latest few; this page shows them all.

Where to find it

Click the bell in the top bar and choose See all. There is no sidebar item for it.

You need the View permission on Notifications, which every default role has. Without it the page shows "No access" and "You do not have permission to view notifications. Ask your administrator."

What you see

The heading "Notifications" and "Everything the workflow engine told you."

Above the list:

  • Unread only: a switch that hides the notifications you have read. Next to it, "N unread" or "Everything is read".
  • The total, for example "34 notifications".

Each notification shows:

  • a blue dot when it is unread (unread ones are also in bold);
  • its title and up to two lines of its message;
  • how long ago it arrived (hover it for the exact date and time);
  • a link to the record it is about, when there is one;
  • "read" and how long ago, once you have read it.

The list shows 20 at a time, newest first. Use Previous and Next ("Page N of N") to move through older ones.

When there is nothing: "No notifications yet" and "Workflow rules that notify you will show up here." With Unread only on and nothing unread: "No unread notifications" and "You are all caught up."

What you can do

Mark all read

In the page header. Marks every unread notification read. You see "N notifications marked read." (or "Nothing was unread.").

  • Who: anyone with the Edit permission on Notifications, which every default role has. Without it the button isn't shown.
  • Greyed out when nothing is unread. There is no hover reason.

Mark read

On each unread notification. Marks that one read.

  • Who: anyone with the Edit permission on Notifications.

Open the record

Click the record link under a notification to open the booking, task or other record it is about.

Things to know

  • Only you see your notifications. Each person has their own inbox; nobody, including an administrator, can read or mark someone else's.
  • Notifications come only from workflow rules. A rule with a notify step sends them. For example, the ready-made rules tell you when a task is assigned to you ("New task: …"), when a task is handed to you ("Task assigned to you: …"), and each morning about overdue tasks ("Overdue task: …"); other ready-made rules tell finance about approved commissions and drafted revenue runs. Your administrator can add or change rules under Settings > Workflows (see Workflows).
  • Opening a notification here doesn't mark it read. Use Mark read. Clicking a notification in the bell does mark it read.
  • The bell's counter refreshes about once a minute and whenever you return to the tab.
