Parking slot is allocated or held: it, and its parking area, cannot be released, changed or deleted here
A parking slot allocated with a booking is released only when that booking is cancelled, one held by a sent estimate only when the estimate is cancelled or expires, and while either lasts its status cannot be set by hand, it cannot be deleted and its parking area cannot be removed; only member allocations are released from the Parking tab.

Parking slot is allocated or held: it, and its parking area, cannot be released, changed or deleted here
You tried to release, re-allocate, re-status or delete a parking slot on the project's Parking tab, or to delete a parking area, and the app refused because a booking or a sent estimate has a claim on the parking slot.
What you see
On the project's Parking tab, in the parking slot panel:
- A parking slot allocated with a booking shows "Allocated to a booking; release it from the booking." instead of a Release button. Anything that tries to release it from outside the screen gets "This parking slot is allocated to a booking; release it through the booking."
- Status is locked with the hint "Set through allocation" while the parking slot is allocated or in a status other than Available or Blocked; the list offers only those two. A change pushed through anyway is refused with "That status is set through allocation, not by hand." or, on an allocated parking slot, "Release the parking slot before changing or deleting it." (the server's own wording is "Release the parking slot before changing its status" and "Release the parking slot before deleting it").
- Delete on a parking slot held by a sent estimate (status Reserved For Buyer) fails with "A sent estimate holds this parking slot". Its Status is locked on the panel; anything that tries to change it from outside the screen is refused with "A sent estimate holds this parking slot; it is released when the estimate is cancelled or expires". Delete is greyed out on an allocated parking slot.
- Delete on a parking slot that appears on any estimate, even one that is no longer live, fails with "That conflicts with existing data."
- Allocate to member fails with "Parking slot is <status>" when the parking slot is no longer Available (it is greyed out until a member is picked and the parking slot is Available).
- On a project without a linked society the panel reads "Member allocation applies to redevelopment projects with a linked society. Booking allocation happens through bookings."
Delete parking area? ("<name> and its <n> parking slots will be removed. Areas with allocated parking slots cannot be deleted.") fails with "Parking slots in this area are allocated; release them first." (the server counts them: "<n> parking slot(s) are allocated"). An area with a parking slot that appears on any estimate, even a cancelled or expired one, fails with "That conflicts with existing data." instead.
On the booking's Applicants & parking tab, the Parking slots card lists the allocated parking slots and says "Parking slots are allocated when booking and released on cancellation; manage the project's parking slots from its Parking tab." There is no release button there either.
Why it happens
A parking slot has an owner while a deal is on. A sent estimate holds its parking slots the way it holds the unit (Reserved For Buyer), so another buyer cannot be offered them; the hold ends when the estimate is cancelled or its validity runs out. A booking allocates the parking slots to the buyer for good, and they come free only when the booking is cancelled. Letting someone change the status, release or delete the parking slot from the Parking tab in the meantime would sell it twice or wipe out a paid-for allocation, so the tab keeps its hands off and points you to the estimate or booking. Allotted, Reserved For Buyer and Booked are therefore never typed in; by hand you may only mark a parking slot Available or Blocked.
Only member allocations are made and released on the Parking tab, and only on a redevelopment project with a society, because those parking slots go to society members under their offers rather than to buyers.
A parking area is deleted with every parking slot in it, so an area keeps standing while any of them is allocated. An estimate keeps the parking slots it priced for its history, even after it is cancelled or expires, so a parking slot (or an area) that was ever on an estimate stays.
How to fix it
- Wait for the hold to lapse, or cancel the estimate. Open the estimate from the opportunity (hovering the parking slot in the Parking tab's Layout view names the buyer) and cancel it on the Estimate page (the Edit permission on Estimates; in the default roles the Administrator, the Sales Manager and the Sales Executive). Expired estimates release their parking slots on the hourly check.
- Cancel the booking to free a booked parking slot: Cancel booking on the booking header opens Cancel booking; its last page says the unit and the allocated parking slots become Available. Who can finish it is described there. A booking cannot give back one parking slot and keep the rest.
- Release a member's parking slot with Release in the parking slot panel (the Edit permission on Parking; the Administrator, the Project Manager, the Sales Manager, the Rehab Officer and the Site Engineer). Then set its Status or Delete it (the Delete permission on Parking: the Administrator and the Project Manager).
- To take a parking slot out of circulation without touching the allocation, wait for the release and then set Status to Blocked.
- To delete a parking area, release every member allocation and cancel the bookings that hold its parking slots (steps 2 and 3), then press the area's bin icon and Delete (the Delete permission on Parking). If any of its parking slots was ever on an estimate, the area cannot be deleted: set those parking slots to Blocked instead and leave the area; an unused area does no harm.
- To allocate to a member on a project without a society, link the society first on Society & Tenants; on a New Development project parking slots are allocated through bookings only.

- Booking is cancelled or its schedule rows are no longer Pending: the change is refusedTroubleshooting
A cancelled booking accepts no edits, demands, receipts, commissions or reschedules, and on a live booking only Pending schedule rows can be re-dated; paid, partly paid, waived and cancelled rows stay as they are, and the payment plan of a booked estimate is changed by regenerating the termsheet, never by cancelling the plan.
