Member or allottee cannot be deleted or recategorised: offers or parking slots are linked
A society member, landowner or PAP tenant who has an offer (in any status, cancelled included) or a parking slot allocated to them cannot be deleted, and a landowner or PAP tenant with an offer cannot be switched to the other category through the import; delete the offer and release the parking slots first.
Messages this explains
- “Tenant cannot be deleted: linked termsheets, parking allocations”
- “Tenant cannot be deleted: linked termsheets”
- “Tenant cannot be deleted: linked parking allocations”
- “category: release the units allotted to this <category> before making them a <category>”
Member or allottee cannot be deleted or recategorised: offers or parking slots are linked
You tried to delete a society member, landowner or PAP tenant, or to switch a landowner to a PAP tenant (or the reverse) through an Excel import, and the app refused because the person already has an offer or a parking slot.
What you see
Deleting. You open the person's form with the pencil on the members or allottees grid of the Society page or the project's Society & Tenants tab, or with Edit on the allottee's page, and press Delete. The confirmation "Delete member?" already warns: "This <member / landowner / PAP tenant> and their co-owner records will be removed. Allottees with term sheets or parking allocations cannot be deleted." When you confirm, it fails with one of:
- "Tenant cannot be deleted: linked termsheets, parking allocations": the person has at least one offer and at least one parking slot.
- "Tenant cannot be deleted: linked termsheets": the person has at least one offer.
- "Tenant cannot be deleted: linked parking allocations": a parking slot is allocated to the person.
"Termsheets" means offers, and "tenant" means the member or allottee. The dialog says "Delete member?" for landowners and PAP tenants too.
Changing the category. In Import landowners & PAP tenants on the project's Society & Tenants tab, a row that changes an existing person's category shows, for example, "category: release the units allotted to this Landowner before making them a PAP Tenant", and nothing in the sheet is written.
Why it happens
An offer (term sheet) is the record of what the developer promised the person: the new units allotted to them, their entitled area, the benefits the developer pays and the charges they pay, the letters issued and any demands or money. Deleting the person would leave that record without anyone behind it, so any offer blocks the delete, including a cancelled one. A parking slot allocated to the person shows as Allotted on the Parking tab under their name, so it blocks the delete too.
Landowners and PAP tenants take different stock: a PAP tenant can only be allotted units designated PAP, which are kept out of the sales stock, while a landowner receives saleable units. Switching the category of someone who already has an offer would leave units allotted from the wrong stock, so the import refuses the change while the person has any offer at all. The message says "release the units", but releasing units is not enough: the offer itself has to go, even a cancelled one that holds no units.
A society member always stays a society member. The member form has no category field, so the import is the only place a landowner or PAP tenant's category can change.
How to fix it
If the person has an offer with money recorded against it, or one on which a demand was raised, that offer cannot be deleted, and so neither can the person nor their category. Keep the record; this is what protects the accounting and the letters already issued.
Otherwise:
- Cancel the offer if it has gone out. On the allottee's page, in the offers list, use Cancel this offer and confirm with Cancel offer; or open the offer from the project's Society & Tenants tab and cancel it there. Cancelling releases the units it allotted. This needs the Edit permission on Termsheets; in the default roles the Administrator, the Rehab Officer and Legal & Documentation have it. See Cancel or delete an offer. An allottee's unit that is already being bought (estimate out or booked) must have that purchase cancelled first.
- Delete the offer. A Draft or Cancelled offer can be deleted: Delete this offer on the allottee's page, then Delete in "Delete this offer?". This needs the Delete permission on Termsheets (in the default roles the Administrator and the Rehab Officer). If it is refused, see Offer cannot be cancelled, reopened, edited or deleted. Repeat for every offer the person has.
- Release the parking slots. On the project's Parking tab, filter by Allocated, open each parking slot held by the person and click Release in the Allocation box. This needs the Edit permission on Parking (in the default roles the Administrator, the Project Manager, the Sales Manager, the Rehab Officer and the Site Engineer). A parking slot that went onto a booking is released only through that booking; see Parking slot cannot be released.
- Delete the person again from their form (the Delete permission on Tenants; in the default roles the Administrator and the Rehab Officer), or, for a category change, choose the import file again and click Import <n> rows (the Create and Edit permissions on Tenants).

- Offer cannot be cancelled, reopened, edited or deleted: money, demands, purchases or its status stand in the wayTroubleshooting
An offer with money recorded against it is in the books and is not cancelled from the offer; a live demand must be cancelled first; an allottee's purchase that has an estimate out or a booking must be cancelled before its unit comes off the offer; and each action is allowed only from the statuses it moves from, so a non-draft offer is reopened before it is edited.
- Parking slot is allocated or held: it, and its parking area, cannot be released, changed or deleted hereTroubleshooting
A parking slot allocated with a booking is released only when that booking is cancelled, one held by a sent estimate only when the estimate is cancelled or expires, and while either lasts its status cannot be set by hand, it cannot be deleted and its parking area cannot be removed; only member allocations are released from the Parking tab.
- Import is greyed out or nothing was written: rows in the sheet failed the checkTroubleshooting
Every Excel import is checked row by row before anything is saved, and nothing at all is written while even one row fails; Import stays greyed out until the listed rows are fixed in the sheet and the file is chosen again.
- Cancel or delete an offerHow-to
Withdraw an offer that has gone out (cancel: units released, record kept) or remove a draft or cancelled offer altogether (delete), from the offer panel or the allottee's page.

Give a society member one of the project's parking slots from the Parking tab, see it on the member's page, and release it again when the allocation changes.
- Record landowners and PAP tenantsHow-to
Record the project's own allottees, the landowners who receive units for their land and the project-affected (PAP) tenants rehabilitated in PAP units, with their co-owners, and open an allottee's page to complete their record.
