Consolidated
One trial-balance-style view across every active set of books in your organization, matched by the organization's template ledgers or groups, with an optional project cut.
Consolidated
When your organization runs projects through several promoter companies, each has its own set of books. This report adds them together into one trial-balance-style view, matching each company's ledgers by the organization template they were copied from. Use it for a group-level picture of bank balances, receivables, revenue and costs.
Where to find it
Open Accounting > Reports in the sidebar and choose the Consolidated tab. You need the View permission on Reports and on Books, as described on the Ledger report, and your organization needs at least one set of books.
The Books switcher at the top right doesn't limit this report: it covers every active set of books. The chosen books only set the starting dates.
Before you start
Each set of books needs a fiscal year that covers the From date, or it is left out (see Fiscal years). For a project cut, the books need cost centres for the project, which Mirror projects on Cost centres creates.
What you see
Filters across the top:
- From and To: start from the first day of the chosen books' fiscal year that holds today, to today.
- Ledgers / Groups: one row per template ledger, or one row per template group.
- Nature: Any nature, Asset, Liability, Equity, Income or Expense.
- Project: All projects, or one project. Shown only with the View permission on Projects.
- Include zero rows: also list rows with nothing in them.
A summary line reads "<from> to <to> across" followed by one badge per set of books used, "<books> · FY <name>", with "(to <date>)" when that company's fiscal year ends before To. With a project chosen, a badge reads "Project cut: opening balances excluded".
A warning lists any books left out: "Skipped: <books> (no fiscal year covers <date>)."
The table:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Code | The template code. |
| Template ledger (or Template group) | The template's name with its nature badge. In the Ledgers view, customer, vendor and other party ledgers, which have no template, are added up per group into one row marked Party ledgers. |
| Opening, Debit, Credit, Closing | The totals across all the books. |
| Books | The sets of books that contributed to the row. |
A Totals row ends the table. When nothing was posted it reads "Nothing posted in this range."

Things to know
- How the books are combined. Each set of books uses its own fiscal year that holds the From date. If To falls after that year's end, that company's figures stop at its year end, shown as "(to <date>)".
- Figures are simply added. Amounts between your own promoter companies are not eliminated, so money moved from one company to another shows in both.
- Inactive books are left out without appearing in the "Skipped" warning.
- The year-end closing journal is left out, as on the Profit & loss.
- A project cut counts only tagged lines. With a project chosen, only voucher lines carrying a cost centre of that project are counted, and opening balances are left out because they aren't split by project. Lines without a cost centre are missed, so the debits and credits of a project cut need not agree.
- "date_to is before date_from" means To is earlier than From.
- The footer totals are printed without the thousands separators used in the rest of the table.

- Books, the active books switcher and cost centresConcept
A set of books is the ledger of one promoter company: every posting for a project lands in its promoter's books, every accounting screen works on the one set chosen in the Books switcher, and cost centres inside the books (usually one per project with a child per tower) let the ledger and reports be cut by project.
- The chart of accounts: templates, books copies, nature and system rowsConcept
The organization keeps one master chart (group templates, ledger templates and default mappings) and every set of books holds its own copy of it; each group carries a nature (asset, liability, equity, income, expense) and a Direct flag that feeds gross profit, a few system rows are locked, codes are never reused, and the Consolidated report adds the books up by the template each ledger came from.
- Fiscal years, periods, locks, opening balances and the year-end closeConcept
Each set of books runs in fiscal years of twelve monthly periods; a voucher can post only into an open year and an unlocked period, opening balances carry each ledger's balance into a year, the year-end close moves income and expense into Profit & Loss Account by a closing journal and writes the next year's openings, and a monthly balance cache is kept as a cross-check.
- Promoter entityConcept
The company developing a project; every project must name one, and its books and bank accounts are where the project's demands, receipts and payouts are posted.
- Ledger reportScreen
