AI connectors

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to NirmaanOne so it can act as you, see what your connections have done, and disconnect them; administrators see and revoke everyone's.

AI connectors

An AI connector lets an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT work inside NirmaanOne on your behalf: search records, read details, log activities and tasks, draft templates, and so on, within what your roles allow. This page gives you the address to connect with, lists the assistants you have connected, and lets you disconnect one. Administrators also see every connection in the organization and can revoke any of them.

Where to find it

Open the account menu in the top bar, choose Settings (see Settings), then the AI connectors tab. The Manage connections link in the AI connectors card on Organization also brings you here.

Every signed-in user can open this page; there is no permission for it. The card All connections in your organization appears only with the View permission on Organization Settings, and revoking another person's connection needs the Edit permission on Organization Settings.

Before you start

An administrator must switch on Allow AI connectors (MCP) on Organization. While it is off, this page shows the warning "AI connectors are turned off for your organization, so new connections cannot be made and existing ones stop working." followed by the link Turn them on in Organization settings (if you may) or "Ask an administrator to allow them."

What you see

The header reads AI connectors with the line "Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client to NirmaanOne. Each connection acts as you, with your roles' permissions, inside your organization only."

Connect an AI assistant

"Add NirmaanOne to your assistant as a custom connector with this server URL." The MCP server URL box holds the address to paste into the assistant, with a copy button, followed by the steps:

  1. "In Claude: Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, and paste the URL."
  2. "Choose Connect, sign in with your NirmaanOne account and choose Allow."
  3. "ChatGPT and other MCP clients work the same way."

Signing in and choosing Allow happens on the Connect an app page.

Under Stop Claude asking before every tool, the card explains how to set tool permissions once for the whole connector in Claude (Customize > Connectors > NirmaanOne > Tool permissions): set read-only tools to always allow, decide whether write tools need approval, and on a Team or Enterprise plan an owner can set it once for the workspace. It notes: "Whatever you allow, the assistant can only do what your NirmaanOne role permits."

Skills for your assistant

A card listing the skills NirmaanOne provides, each with Download zip. A skill is a small folder of instructions your assistant reads so it works with NirmaanOne the right way; the connection above provides what the assistant can do, the skill tells it how. Today there is one, nirmaanone-documents: how to turn your own letter, form, PDF, Excel sheet or Word file into a document template with merge fields and if/else wording, preview it against real records and hand publishing back to you. Add the zip to Claude under its Skills settings; for ChatGPT paste the text of SKILL.md into a project's instructions and attach the reference files. Everyone who is signed in can download it. See Draft a document template with an AI assistant.

Your connections

"Assistants you have connected. Disconnecting one stops it at its next request." The toggle Show disconnected ("Revoked and expired too") adds past connections.

Column What it shows
App The assistant's name.
Connected When the connection was made.
Last used When it last called NirmaanOne, or "Never".
Calls How many calls it has made.
Status Active, Revoked (with the date and the reason) or Expired.
(icons) Activity and, on an active row, Disconnect.

Empty: "You have not connected an AI assistant yet." or, with Show disconnected on, "You have never connected an AI assistant."

All connections in your organization

Shown only with the View permission on Organization Settings: "Every user's connections, with what each one did." It has the same columns plus User (the person's email), and its icons are Activity and Revoke. Without the Edit permission on Organization Settings the card shows the note "Revoking another user's connection needs permission to update organization settings." and the Revoke icons are greyed out.

Empty: "Nobody in your organization has an active connection." or "Nobody in your organization has connected an AI assistant yet."

What you can do

Download zip

Downloads the skill as a zip named after it (for example nirmaanone-documents.zip), ready to add to Claude. Anyone signed in can download it.

Copy

The Copy button next to MCP server URL copies the address to paste into your assistant; it reads Copied for a moment afterwards. Clicking into the box also selects the whole address.

  • Who: everyone.

Show disconnected

Adds Revoked and Expired connections to the card's list.

  • Who: everyone, on each card they can see.

Activity

The list icon (tooltip "Activity") opens "Activity of <app>": "Acting as <email>. N calls recorded. Hover a tool to see the arguments it was called with." Each call shows its Time, the Tool used, the Outcome (Success or Error), the Error code and the Duration. Twenty calls are shown per page; with more, Previous and Next and "Page N of M" appear. "No calls yet." is shown when there are none. Hover a tool name to see what the assistant asked for.

  • Who: everyone for their own connections; anyone with the View permission on Organization Settings for the organization card.

Disconnect

The ban icon on an active row of Your connections (tooltip "Disconnect") opens "Disconnect this assistant?": "<app> stops working at its next request. Its activity stays on record. To use it again, connect it afresh from the assistant." with Cancel and Disconnect.

  • Who: everyone, for their own connections.
  • What happens next: "<app> disconnected." The row becomes Revoked. To use the assistant again, connect it anew from the assistant's side.

Revoke

The ban icon on an active row of All connections in your organization (tooltip "Revoke") opens "Revoke this connection?": "<app> (connected by <email>) stops working at its next request. Its activity stays on record. To use it again, connect it afresh from the assistant." with Cancel and Revoke.

  • Who: anyone with the Edit permission on Organization Settings. Without it the icon is greyed out with the hover reason "Revoking another user's connection needs permission to update organization settings."
  • What happens next: "<app> disconnected." The user's assistant fails at its next request.

Turn them on in Organization settings

Shown in the warning while connectors are off, to those who may change organization settings. Opens Organization, where the Allow AI connectors (MCP) toggle is.

Statuses

Status Meaning
Active The assistant can call NirmaanOne as this user.
Revoked Disconnected by the user, revoked by an administrator or ended by the assistant itself; the date and a reason are shown. It cannot be re-enabled: connect afresh.
Expired Its access ran out: a connection lasts 30 days from when it was made or last renewed by the assistant. Connect afresh to continue.

Things to know

  • The assistant is you. Every connection acts with your roles' permissions, inside your organization only, and everything it does is recorded under your name with "via AI connector" in the Audit log. Give an assistant only the tool permissions you would exercise yourself.
  • Some things an assistant can never do, whatever your role: move money, issue demands, approve, cancel bookings, publish templates or send email.
  • A connection stops when it is disconnected or revoked, it expires, the organization switch is turned off, the user is deactivated, the user signs out everywhere or changes their password.
  • Turning the organization switch off does not revoke connections. They fail while it is off but stay listed as Active; once it is back on, an assistant that no longer works has to be connected afresh from the assistant's side. While the switch is off, a user who tries to allow a new connection is told "Your organization has not turned on AI connectors. An administrator can allow them under Settings > Organization." Use Revoke to end a connection for good.
  • Activity is kept after disconnecting. The Activity dialog and the audit log still show what the assistant did.
  • Two-factor authentication applies. If your organization requires it, you must have it set up before an assistant can connect as you.
  • The revoke reason is shown in short form (for example "revoked_by_user", "revoked_by_administrator" or "revoked_by_client").
  • The tab is visible while the switch is off. Everyone sees the page and its instructions; the warning at the top tells you whether connections will work.
  • The page calls the product "NirmaanOne"; it is the same NirmaanOne you sign in to.
