Estimates (opportunity tab)

Every priced version of one opportunity, newest first, with its status, unit, pricing plan, total and validity, and shortcuts to open a version, continue the draft or start a new one.

Estimates (opportunity tab)

The Estimates tab lists every version priced for this buyer, so you can see how the offer evolved, open any version, and pick up the draft or start the next one.

Where to find it

Open an opportunity and choose the Estimates tab, or click All versions (N) on the Overview's Current estimate card. After you delete a draft estimate the app returns here.

The tab is shown to anyone with any permission on Estimates; the list itself needs the View permission on Estimates, otherwise it shows "No access" and "You do not have permission to view estimates. Ask your administrator."

What you see

The card is headed "Estimates" with the note "Each version is priced once and never changes after it is sent; a new version supersedes the current one."

Column What it shows
Version "Version N", which opens the estimate, with a Current badge on the live highest version.
Status The estimate status badge (see below).
Unit The unit number, with tower and floor underneath.
Pricing plan The unit pricing plan used, or "Manual pricing" for hand-added charges only.
Total The grand total, with the subtotal (before GST) underneath.
Created The creation date, with "valid until <date>" underneath once a validity date is set.
(actions) Open, and Edit draft on a draft.

The list shows every version on one page, newest first. When nothing has been priced yet it reads "No estimates yet".

What you can do

New estimate / New version

Opens New estimate. The button reads New estimate when the opportunity has no current estimate and New version when it has one; a new version starts from the current version's unit, parking slots, charges and payment plan.

  • Who: anyone with the Create permission on Estimates.
  • When it is missing: on Booked and Lost opportunities, and while a Draft exists (only one draft at a time).

Edit draft vN

Opens the draft in the estimate wizard.

  • Who: anyone with the Edit permission on Estimates, when a Draft exists.

Open

The first icon on a row (tooltip "Open"), or the "Version N" link, opens the estimate.

  • Who: anyone who can see this tab.

Edit draft

The pencil icon (tooltip "Edit draft") on a Draft row opens it in the wizard.

  • Who: anyone with the Edit permission on Estimates.

Statuses

Status Meaning
Draft Still being priced; holds nothing.
Sent Shared with the buyer; the unit and picked parking slots are on hold until the validity date.
Finalized The price is locked; the payment plan comes next. The hold continues.
Pending Approval Waiting for an approver. The hold continues.
Approved Can be booked. The hold continues.
Rejected Sent back with comments; revise or request approval again. The hold continues.
Superseded Replaced by a newer version; kept for the record.
Cancelled Withdrawn (by hand, by marking the opportunity lost, or by booking another version).
Expired The validity date passed before booking; the hold was released.

The Estimate article explains how each status moves to the next.

Things to know

  • Versions are the audit trail of the negotiation. A price never changes in place once it has left Draft; every revision is a new, numbered version and the old one becomes Superseded. That is why old versions stay listed.
  • Only the Current version matters for booking and approval. Older versions cannot be finalized or booked even when they are still live.
  • The note "never changes after it is sent" is about the price. The payment plan on a sent or finalized estimate can still be re-versioned on the estimate page.
  • Manual pricing means the estimate has no unit pricing plan and was priced from hand-added fixed charges only.

Price a unit for a buyer: pick the unit and optional parking slots, load a unit pricing plan or add charges by hand, override rates with a reason, set the validity, and save the draft before moving on to the payment plan.

Continue an estimate in three steps: edit the draft pricing, draft or re-version the payment plan (lumpsum, installments, custom dates or construction-linked), then review and finalize, which locks price and plan and requests approval.

One estimate version: its charges by group, payment plan, approvals, unit and parking hold and validity, with the lifecycle actions to send, finalize, request approval, approve or reject, extend, cancel, version and book.

  • EstimatesScreen

Every priced offer across projects, with an approvals inbox where approvers accept or reject estimates awaiting a decision and an all-estimates view with status and version filters.

  • Price a unit for a buyerHow-to

Create the first estimate on an opportunity: pick the unit on the availability grid, any parking slots, a unit pricing plan or hand-added charges with overrides and GST, set the validity and save it as a draft.

  • Revise an estimate after a rejection or a change of termsHow-to

Change a locked estimate the right way: a new version for a different price, unit or parking (the old version is superseded), a new payment plan version when only the terms change, or a fresh approval request on the same version.

  • "A Draft estimate already exists": one draft estimate (or draft payment plan) at a timeTroubleshooting

An opportunity can have only one Draft estimate, and an estimate only one Draft payment plan; the New estimate and New version buttons hide while a draft exists, and the draft has to be finished, deleted or (for a plan) edited before another one can be started.

  • Estimate versions, price lock, overrides and the approval gateConcept

Every priced offer to a buyer is a numbered version of the opportunity: a Draft is edited in place, any later price change is a new version that supersedes the current one, the price is locked when finalized, and every estimate must be approved before it can be booked.

  • Estimate validity and the unit holdConcept

A sent estimate holds its unit (and the parking slots it picked) for that buyer until its Valid until date; the hold starts on sending, can be extended with a reason, and an hourly job expires the estimate and frees the unit the day after the date passes.
