Re-date an installment or regenerate the schedule

Move one pending installment to a new date, or rebuild the open part of a booking's payment schedule from a changed payment plan, keeping every paid, waived or hand-edited row.

Re-date an installment or regenerate the schedule

The booking's payment schedule is built from the finalized payment plan when the unit is booked. Two things change it afterwards. To move a single installment (the buyer asks for a week's grace, or a stage-linked installment gets a firm date), edit that installment. To change the plan itself (a different cadence, new rows, a different milestone split), regenerate the schedule: the plan is saved as a new version on the booked estimate and the open part of the schedule is rebuilt, while every row that has money on it, was waived or was edited by hand stays exactly as it is.

Before you start

  • The booking is Active (Book a unit) and its termsheet is not Cancelled. The termsheet may be Draft, Issued, Accepted or Signed; on anything but Draft the app warns that the buyer has already seen the schedule.
  • You need the Edit permission on Bookings: in the default roles the Administrator, the Sales Manager and Legal & Documentation. Without it the pencils and Regenerate schedule aren't shown.
  • For a construction-linked plan or milestone-linked rows, the project needs construction stages (Plan the construction stages) and you need the View permission on Construction Stages; otherwise the Construction-linked plan type isn't offered.
  • Know what will be kept: installments that are Paid, Partially Paid, Waived or Cancelled, and any installment carrying the Manual badge, are never rebuilt. Only Pending, untouched rows are.

Steps

  1. Open the booking and choose the Termsheet & schedule tab, or click Schedule on the Termsheet card of the Booking overview. The Termsheet card shows its status badge, Payment plan ("v<n> · <summary>", for example "12 monthly installments from 2026-10-05") and the button Regenerate schedule. Below it the Payment schedule table lists each installment with #, Due, Total amount, GST, TDS, Payable to developer, Status, Paid and Demand; every Pending installment has a pencil at the end of its row. See Termsheet & schedule.
  2. To move one installment, click its pencil ("Edit installment <n>"). The dialog "Installment <n>" opens with Due date and Note (placeholder "Optional; written on every charge row"). An installment that waits on a construction stage ("On <stage>" in the Due column) shows "This installment waits on <stage>; a date here overrides that for every charge row."
  3. Set the Due date, type a Note if you want one, and click Save. You see "Installment <n> updated." Every pending charge row at that position takes the date and the note, and the row shows a Manual badge, which keeps it safe from a later regenerate. Amounts don't change here.
  4. To change the plan itself, click Regenerate schedule. The dialog "Regenerate payment schedule" opens with the plan editor prefilled from the booking's current plan. It tells you what will be kept: "<n> paid, partially paid, waived or hand-edited rows are kept; only the open remainder is rebuilt from the plan below." or "No rows are locked yet; the whole schedule is rebuilt from the plan below.", and adds "The plan is saved as version <n+1> on estimate v<n>." On a termsheet that is no longer Draft an amber warning reads "This termsheet is <status>. Regenerating changes the schedule the buyer has already seen."
  5. Change the plan. Pick the Plan type: Lumpsum ("All of it on the booking date"), Installments ("Spread over time") or Construction-linked ("As milestones are achieved"). For installments choose On a schedule (Cadence, Number of installments, First installment on, and Day of month or Weekday) or Custom (date-linked) (Payment rows with a Share or Amount each, due On a date, Days after booking or At a milestone, and a Label; Add row puts a new row on top). For construction-linked set On booking (%) and click Add milestone for each stage with its Share, or, when the stages carry default shares, click Fill from milestone defaults. Percent plans must total 100%. If the pricing plan sends charge groups to possession, the At the time of possession section shows them apart with Show this section on the buyer's payment plan. Check the "Preview (full line amounts, before locked rows are subtracted)" under the editor: it is dated from the booking date and shows the full plan before the kept rows are taken off. See Agree the payment plan for the plan forms in detail.
  6. Click Regenerate. You see "Schedule regenerated." The table now shows the kept rows followed by the rebuilt open remainder, and Payment plan on the Termsheet card reads the new version.

What happens next

  • The new plan is saved as the next payment plan version on the booked estimate, Finalized straight away; the previous version becomes Superseded. The booking is already closed, so no approval is reopened. The Estimate page shows the new version on its Payment plan card with the note that the booking's termsheet was scheduled from it.
  • Per charge, the amount still open (the charge's total less what the kept rows carry) is spread over the fresh rows; the kept rows keep their numbers and the new rows are numbered after them. The installment view then regroups everything by due date, stage and "at possession" and numbers the installments again in due order, so an installment's number can change.
  • A re-dated installment keeps its Manual badge through later regenerates. Its notes are replaced by what you typed in Note (an empty Note clears the earlier notes). A due date can't be blanked from the dialog.
  • The opportunity's timeline gets the line "Payment plan v<n> applied to booking <booking no>: <summary>".
  • The termsheet's status doesn't change. If it was Issued or Accepted and you want the buyer to see the schedule again, use Reopen and Issue it afresh (Issue, accept and sign the buyer's termsheet); a Signed termsheet can't be reopened.
  • Demands bill installments as they stand now: the next demand from the Demands & money tab picks from the rebuilt rows.

If something goes wrong

  • The pencil isn't shown on an installment, or saving answers "Installment <n> has no Pending rows left to edit": money has been placed on it, it was waived, or it was cancelled; only pending installments move. See Booking is cancelled or its schedule rows are no longer Pending (trouble.bookings.booking-locked).
  • The buttons are missing and the overview shows the booking as Cancelled, or the dialog answers "This booking is cancelled and can no longer be changed.": a cancelled booking can't be rescheduled. Same article (trouble.bookings.booking-locked).
  • "The rows add up to <n>%, not 100%" or "Down payment plus milestone percents add up to <n>%, not 100%": the shares of a custom or construction-linked plan don't total 100%. Adjust a share; the "Rows total" and "On booking + milestones =" badges show the running total. See Finalize in order: pricing, plan, approval, booking (trouble.sales.cannot-finalize-plan-pricing-first).
  • "Add at least one row", "Enter the due date", "Enter the days after booking", "Choose a milestone", "Choose a calendar cadence", "At least 1 installment", "A one-time cadence allows exactly 1 installment", "Enter the first installment date", "Add at least one milestone" or "This milestone is listed twice": the plan is incomplete; fix the field the message sits under.
  • "A Draft estimate already exists for this opportunity. Edit that draft instead of creating another." in the dialog's banner: a Draft payment plan still exists on the booked estimate, and the regenerate can't add a version until it is dealt with (the message names the wrong record). Open the estimate and finalize or delete that draft plan on its Payment plan card, then regenerate again. See A draft already exists (trouble.sales.draft-already-exists).
  • Construction-linked isn't offered: the project has no construction stages, or your role lacks the View permission on Construction Stages.
  • The pencils and Regenerate schedule are missing on an Active booking: your role lacks the Edit permission on Bookings. See No permission (trouble.common.no-permission).

  • Plan construction stages and their sharesHow-to

Record the project's construction stages (plinth, slabs, possession…) with their order, share of the payment bucket, tower and expected date, one at a time on the tab or in bulk from an Excel sheet, so construction-linked payment plans and pricing plans can be built on them.

  • Payment plans: lumpsum, cadence, custom and construction-linkedConcept

A payment plan says how the buyer's total is collected: all at once, in equal installments on a cadence, on agreed dates, or as construction stages are achieved; it lives on the estimate as numbered versions, is finalized with the price for approval, and becomes the booking's schedule.

  • Expected possession date and charges at possessionConcept

The project's expected possession date is when the charge groups a pricing plan collects "at time of possession" fall due: one undivided row per charge, owed from booking, outside the buyer's payment plan, re-dated on every open booking when the date changes.

  • Booking is cancelled or its schedule rows are no longer Pending: the change is refusedTroubleshooting

A cancelled booking accepts no edits, demands, receipts, commissions or reschedules, and on a live booking only Pending schedule rows can be re-dated; paid, partly paid, waived and cancelled rows stay as they are, and the payment plan of a booked estimate is changed by regenerating the termsheet, never by cancelling the plan.

  • Payment plan cannot be finalized, or the estimate cannot be approved or booked: finalize in orderTroubleshooting

An estimate goes price first, plan second: the pricing is locked, then a payment plan whose shares add up to 100% is finalized, which requests approval; only an Approved estimate with a Finalized plan can be booked.

  • "A Draft estimate already exists": one draft estimate (or draft payment plan) at a timeTroubleshooting

An opportunity can have only one Draft estimate, and an estimate only one Draft payment plan; the New estimate and New version buttons hide while a draft exists, and the draft has to be finished, deleted or (for a plan) edited before another one can be started.

  • "No access" or "You do not have permission": your role lacks a permissionTroubleshooting

Every screen, button and picker is gated by a permission on a module; your role decides which you hold, so a missing one shows as a No access card, a refused action, a greyed-out button with a hover reason, or a picker that explains which permission it needs.
