Unsubscribes
The organization's opt-out list: contacts who will not receive campaign email, added by the link in every campaign mail or by hand, with the reason and when.
Unsubscribes
This is the list of contacts who will not receive campaign email. A contact lands here when they click the unsubscribe link in a campaign mail, or when you add them by hand because they asked. Anyone on this list is marked Unsubscribed and skipped whenever a campaign's recipient list is built.
Where to find it
Click the Unsubscribes link in the header of the Campaigns list. The breadcrumbs read Campaigns > Unsubscribes.
You need the View permission on Campaigns to see the list (otherwise "No access" and "You do not have permission to view campaigns. Ask your administrator."). Adding and removing contacts needs the Edit permission on Campaigns; in the default roles that is the Administrator and the Sales Manager.
What you see
The page header reads "Contacts who will not receive campaign email. The unsubscribe link in every campaign adds to this list; you can also add or remove a contact by hand."
Above the grid, a search "Search by email" that matches the email address stored with the opt-out.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Contact | The contact's name, with the email address recorded at the time (or "no email") underneath. |
| Reason | The reason recorded, or "—". When the opt-out came from a campaign's link, "via <campaign name>" appears underneath. |
| When | When the contact was added to the list. |
| (unnamed) | The remove icon. |
The list opens newest first. Contact and When can be sorted; Reason can't. When the list is empty it reads "Nobody has unsubscribed".
What you can do
Unsubscribe a contact
Opens the dialog "Unsubscribe a contact" with a Contact search (placeholder "Search contacts…") and a Reason box (placeholder "Asked on the phone"). Click Unsubscribe (greyed out until a contact is picked). The contact joins the list and a message reads "Contact unsubscribed."
- Who: anyone with the Edit permission on Campaigns. The button isn't shown otherwise. The contact search also needs the View permission on Contacts.
- What can go wrong: "This contact is already unsubscribed" when they are on the list already; "Contact not found" when the contact was deleted meanwhile.
Remove unsubscribe
The x icon on a row (tooltip "Remove unsubscribe") asks "Remove unsubscribe?": "<name or email> will receive campaign email again." Confirm with Remove. A message reads "Unsubscribe removed."
- Who: anyone with the Edit permission on Campaigns. The icon isn't shown otherwise.
Things to know
- The link in the mail does the work. Every campaign mail carries a personal unsubscribe link. When the recipient clicks it they see a page titled "Unsubscribed" that reads "You are unsubscribed" and "<email> will no longer receive campaign email from <organization>.", and they are added here with the reason "Unsubscribe link" and the campaign's name. A link that is not valid answers "This unsubscribe link is not valid".
- One entry per contact, not per email address. If two contact records share an address, unsubscribing one does not stop mail to the other. Search by email to find both.
- The list is organization-wide. A contact is opted out of every campaign; there is no per-campaign or per-topic opt-out.
- It takes effect when a recipient list is built. A campaign whose list was built before the contact unsubscribed still mails them unless you click Rebuild list in the campaign editor.
- Removing an entry is a real re-subscribe. Do it only when the person has asked to receive mail again.
- Deleting a contact removes their entry here along with the contact; deactivating the contact keeps it.
- The contact name links to a contact page the app does not have; look the person up under Contacts instead.

A campaign's audience is a saved filter over contacts or leads; the recipient list is the snapshot built from it, one row per contact, skipping those without a valid email or on the organization's unsubscribe list, which the link in every mail adds to.
